Living Peaceful in a Time of Turmoil
I want you to be really honest for a moment. How has the current global unrest affected you? Gas prices soaring and then plummeting (thank God I can fill my car up for under $60 again), Stock market going up and down daily, wars, political ads and campaigns (yahoo, only a week more), no jobs, house prices falling, etc. It is just a real interesting time.
The cool thing is that IF, and I say if, you have a deep, real relationship with Christ, you have the solution to leave a peaceable life, regardless of what the world throws at you. Your peace is not dependent upon the economy. You peace is not based on how much money is in your bank account. You peace doesn’t come from how many friends you have. Peace comes from within. It is not an external source that brings peace, but from Christ who is in you.
Next time you feel a little anxious, depressed or lonely, stop looking around you and start looking in you to the one that will give you peace in all things. Philippians 4:6-7 says, ” Don’t worry about anything; intead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” You can live a peaceable life today.

Once again, you really hit the nail on the head. I need to be looking in me not around me. Thanks again for saving my bacon. Pastor Marc, you are awesome.
